Cable Channel that Caters to those 50+

While channel surfing recently, we came across an entertaining cable channel that’s specifically for an audience of people who are aged 50 years old and older. Maybe you’ve heard of it, but if not, it’s called RLTV.

From the RLTV website, here’s what the channel has to say about its programming:

“If you’re over 50 years old, you grew up with television. In fact, for most of your life, every TV show was created with you in mind.

Today, on the other hand, the big networks and cable channels have set their sights on a younger target: people in their 20s and 30s. So if it seems that TV isn’t made for you anymore, there’s a reason: it’s not.

That’s where RLTV comes in: It’s the only network specifically targeting people over 50. Our programming, from news to entertainment, is created for knowledgeable, experienced adults who understand the importance of television.

Our Emmy Award-winning content focuses on everything from financial planning and second careers to travel and entertainment; from health and wellness to volunteerism and community-building. RLTV offers an all-star lineup of interesting, intelligent, engaging, experienced celebrity hosts including Florence Henderson, Joan Lunden, Jean Chatzky, Sam Donaldson and more. They possess talent along with the depth and knowledge to match our audience: You.

Since launching in 2008 as a 24/7 network, RLTV can now be seen in over 25 million homes across the U.S. Every day, more cable distributors and media outlets are realizing the critical importance of the 50+ audience and are signing on with RLTV. And, as we build and grow our network, we will do it with the 50+ audience’s likes, dislikes and lifestyles in mind every step of the way.”

But even if you don’t have cable TV, or the channel isn’t on your cable system, you can still enjoy the content RLTV has to offer: on it’s website. There, you’ll find videos, articles, recipes, and more all geared toward the interests of those aged 50+.

And, if all else fails, the Hallmark Channel shows reruns of one of our all-time favorites: The Golden Girls.
