If you’re a filmmaker looking to gain exposure, and win some prize money, the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) has begun its fourth annual call for short films on ageism. ALFA is looking for ageism films that illuminate specific discriminatory practices against seniors, prejudicial attitudes toward the aging process or institutional practices that perpetuate stereotypes about seniors.

Submit Your Short Film on Ageism Now

  • Requirements: Film must be no longer then 9 minutes including credits.

    Film should consider ALFA's principles of choice, dignity and

    independence for seniors
  • First Place: $3,000 and a trip to the screening of their film

    at the ALFA Conference & Expo May 20-22 in Phoenix
  • Second Place: $1,000
  • Deadline: March 17, 2014
  • Winners will be notified April 14, 2014

Submissions should be no longer than 9 minutes in length including credits and should consider ALFA’s principles of choice, dignity and independence for seniors while focusing on ageism. The final deadline for submissions is March 17 and winners will be notified April 14. The first prize winner will receive $3,000 and a trip to the screening of their film at the ALFA Conference & Expo May 20-22 in Phoenix. The second prize is $1,000.

    Tells the story of Benjamin Button, a man who starts aging backwards with bizarre consequences.
