We specialize in post-hospital rehabilitation and offer a variety of options to fit your needs, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Some of Optalis’s seven rehabilitation centers also offer a Refresh and Renew After Care Program for cosmetic surgery patients.

MEMORY CARE

Two Optalis care communities, Monterey and West Park offer memory care programs for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia. Although most individuals with dementia experience memory loss, increased confusion, and difficulty communicating and carrying out everyday tasks, it’s important to recognize that no two cases of Alzheimer’s or dementia are exactly alike. They affect people in different ways, which is why we provide a personalized plan of care for each resident.

Safe, Secure Environment and Specialized Memory Care Programming

Both Memory Care at West Park and Memory Care at Monterey provides a secure environment that allows each resident to feel safe, independent, and comfortable. Our program offers a unique and effective approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care and was started in 1992 by Tricia Bingham, who is currently the Director of Programs and Services at the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter.

Specialized programming offers residents a variety of structured activities throughout the day, which minimizes anxiety and agitation. An enclosed courtyard provides security while social engagement promotes emotional support. Our compassionate staff members understand the needs of residents experiencing memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease, and dementia.

The memory care program at Monterey’s secure memory care neighborhood offers a unique and effective approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Specialized programming offers residents a variety of structured activities throughout the day, which minimizes anxiety and agitation.

Memory Care at Monterey includes:

• 41-bed unit offering a variety of resident accommodation options
• 24-hour nursing care with consistent staff
• A secure outside courtyard
• Engaging activities
• A Music and Memory program, certified by the Ohio Department of Aging
• monthly Alzheimer’s support group
• Care planning and supervision by a registered nurse
• Assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and personal hygiene

LONG TERM CARE

A long-term senior care option that provides personal care support services to residents that can no longer independently perform activities of daily living.

Independence is a hard thing to give up. But there comes a time when you have to let others help you when you can no longer help yourself. Monterey recognizes this important stage of life and honors it with signature long-term care that enables you to continue enjoying the pleasures of a life free from worry about diminishing capacities of mobility and autonomy.

• Regular visiting physician specialists
• Physiatrists (Doctors of physical medicine)
• Attentive and trained staff members – 24 hours per day
• Dental, podiatry and optical services
• Licensed and registered therapists, including physical and occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists
• Nutritional therapies with IV and enteral feedings
• Medication administration and management
• Emergency call systems in each suite and bath
